I have this problem with the attached pdf (gdb file also included). With the latest updates, the segfault doesn't happen anymore. Still, evince uses a whole processor core for say half a minute on this Pendium 4, 1GB RAM computer. It uses 255 mib of memory after opening the document (system monitor) and 480mib when generating the print preview and afterthat. I wouldn't say dramatically. Evince seems to use a lot of memory (55 % on my system), but I don't know if it is normal. When I try to print, the cpu use reaches 100 %, the drops down and finally evince crashes. Does your whole system slow down dramatically when opening 0.pdf (or any other document from JSTOR) on Evince?
