[Bug 1735700] Re: Suggestion to suspend on lid close by default
@lastonestanding, your assumption is correct. Because some systems have issues with lid close, suspension, and wake events, we have defaulted to not suspending the system and instead allowing the users to set the option themselves. ** Changed in: xubuntu-default-settings (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix ** Changed in: xubuntu-default-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1735700 Title: Suggestion to suspend on lid close by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xubuntu-default-settings/+bug/1735700/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1735700] Re: Suggestion to suspend on lid close by default
I assume that 'suspend' is not the default setting because it may not be supported properly by the system, and therefore cause a system crash. ** Package changed: xfce4-power-manager (Ubuntu) => xubuntu-default- settings (Ubuntu) ** Bug watch added: Xfce Bugzilla #11127 https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11127 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1735700 Title: Suggestion to suspend on lid close by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xubuntu-default-settings/+bug/1735700/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1735700] Re: Suggestion to suspend on lid close by default
Personally... There should be an option for the laptop lid to be closed when docked. I have Dell with two HDMI monitors attached to my docking station. Since 17.10 upgrade, I have to run with the laptop lid open. Should I power up with the lid closed, I see the boot sequence on Monitor one until LXE Window Mgr starts, then the screen blanks. Xfce- power-manager options for "Plugged in" should be "Switch off (Laptop Screen Only)", "Suspend", "Lock Screen". It appears that "Switch off Display" shuts down the Docking Station Video Ports as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1735700 Title: Suggestion to suspend on lid close by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-power-manager/+bug/1735700/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
