[Bug 1781251] Re: No Python3 support for omniORB

2019-10-24 Thread Markus Partheymueller
I found a thread discussing how Fedora handled the side-by-side
installation for their RPM packages: http://www.omniorb-
support.com/pipermail/omniorb-list/2017-August/031921.html

Is there anything fundamental preventing an updated package? Given that
there are only two months left for Python2, the only alternative for me
would be to drop support for Ubuntu in the affected projects, which
would be a shame.

Salome (https://www.salome-platform.org/) doesn't compile without
omniORB for Python3.

[Bug 1781251] Re: No Python3 support for omniORB

2019-03-20 Thread Thomas P
Hi,

this is also an issue for me as we have software that requires python3
bindings or CORBA. Are there any plans to add an updated python-omniorb
package in the next release?

With the recent announcement to EOL Python2, it would be really time to
include the Python3 version of this package. Is there any plan to do so?
