@Vincenzo, closing by changing the status to "Invalid". Thanks for updating us. @Wim, the effects may be related but the cause of your problem are not related to Vincenzo's bug report. ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1866263 Title: Upgrade to 18.04 two pc fail to internet To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1866263/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1866263] Re: Upgrade to 18.04 two pc fail to internet
Related: see Question#688852 on http://Answers.Launchpad.Net/ubuntu/+question/688852 During upgrade from 16.04 to 18.04 internet connection remained OK After reboot there 'seemed' tot be no internet connection, but: * ping -4 reached only the nearest router-modem In Network Manager all connection (wired and wifi) were manually removed. PC on an other (new) location could now ping IPv4-numbers, no webnames. As soon as the name is added in the file /etc/hosts that website can be reached in a web browser. Question: is the upgrade to 18.04 doing something with DNS ? Re: [Bug 1866263] Re: Upgrade to 18.04 two pc fail to internet
Please cancel this bug. I found the issue with a cable from the router to the switch. Once I changed the errors cleared. [Bug 1866263] Re: Upgrade to 18.04 two pc fail to internet
I have tried that in a terminal and nothing is happening? Does this need a internet connection to send the debug? I will leave it on and see what happens or I could reboot later tomorrow. It started to read anacron (2115): job cron.daily started -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1866263 Title: Upgrade to 18.04 two pc fail to internet To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1866263/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command only once, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal: apport-collect 1866263 When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu- bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs. A Support site maybe helpful, eg. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu . You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org , or for more support options please look at https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community- support/709 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1866263 Title: Upgrade to 18.04 two pc fail to internet To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1866263/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
