[Bug 194797] Re: [kubuntu hardy] Cannot set volume higher than 48% with hot keys
This patch is in 3.5.9 already. [Bug 194797] Re: [kubuntu hardy] Cannot set volume higher than 48% with hot keys
thanks, this worked but it seems that the latest kmilo package in hardy is patched also -- [kubuntu hardy] Cannot set volume higher than 48% with hot keys https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194797 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 194797] Re: [kubuntu hardy] Cannot set volume higher than 48% with hot keys
mael, Try upgrading to the attached version of kmilo (3.5.9) and see if that helps. You'll need to restart kde after you install it (log out and then log back in). ** Attachment added: "kmilo 3.5.9" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/12355776/kmilo_3.5.9-0ubuntu1_i386.deb -- [kubuntu hardy] Cannot set volume higher than 48% with hot keys https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194797 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 194797] Re: [kubuntu hardy] Cannot set volume higher than 48% with hot keys
In my last comment, I meant to say that I downgraded to 3.5.8-0ubuntu1 :) I just compiled kdeutils 3.5.9 from source, and this problem seems to be fixed, though one of the patches needs to be tweaked to get it compile. I'm attaching my modified patch file for that in case someone finds it useful. ** Attachment added: "Modified patch file for kdeutils-3.5.9" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/12264645/14_kmilo_actions.diff -- [kubuntu hardy] Cannot set volume higher than 48% with hot keys https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194797 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 194797] Re: [kubuntu hardy] Cannot set volume higher than 48% with hot keys
I downgraded kmilo to 1.5.8-0ubuntu1 from here... http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/k/kdeutils/kmilo_3.5.8-0ubuntu1_i386.deb and the problem went away, so it must be a new bug in kmilo_3.5.8-1ubuntu7. I'm marking this as confirmed and putting the package as "kdeutils" as that's what src package kmilo is built from. ** Changed in: kdeutils (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: None => kdeutils Status: New => Confirmed -- [kubuntu hardy] Cannot set volume higher than 48% with hot keys https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194797 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 194797] Re: [kubuntu hardy] Cannot set volume higher than 48% with hot keys
"3d control - depth" is probably just some feature of your soundcard/driver that is supposed to give sound output more of a "surround sound" effect. -- [kubuntu hardy] Cannot set volume higher than 48% with hot keys https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/194797 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 194797] Re: [kubuntu hardy] Cannot set volume higher than 48% with hot keys
Ah yes, now that you say it I have something similar here: using the hot keys adjust both volume and something named "3d control - depth", and when the latter reaches 100% the volume doesn't increase. (besides, I have no idea what this 3d control - depth does...) This is hardy with latest updates.
I'm seeing similar things here. I can't raise the volume about 40% here. I opened Kmix and watched it while I raised and lowered the volume with the hotkeys. It seems it's adjusting the Treble control along with the master volume (although it's adjusting the Treble at a different ratio than the master). The net effect is that once the Treble control reaches 100%, the master hits 40% and won't go any higher. I can manually adjust the volume with Kmix, but this is less than optimal. :( I also upgraded Gutsy to Hardy Alpha 5.
