[Bug 1961349] Re: uneven tooltips in the application menu

2022-02-20 Thread KGIII
FWIW, it happens at various resolutions. I test in different
resolutions, depending on the day and the box.

(And you're the one who suggested I report it! *grins*)

As mentioned, it's remarkably trivial.

[Bug 1961349] Re: uneven tooltips in the application menu

2022-02-18 Thread Chris Guiver
We've spoken about this twice?, my last message attempted to allude to
my notice that the 'tooltips' appears to be drawn in two positions
dependent on whether or not mouse pointer is over the top or bottom half
of the menu items.

I've not looked at the code, but I get the feeling if you stop the mouse
on the lower portion of the item (eg. KDE Partition Manager) the tooltip
is drawn lower than if you'd stopped the mouse on the upper portion of
"KDE Partition Manager'.

How we experience this may vary on resolution (of our monitors), or
other factors I've not even considered.

Can you understand what I've tried to express here? (or in my prior
message which I've not looked at in hopes I'd used clearer words here).
Would this explain it?

(It could also be I'm not critical enough; given my hand dexterity is less than
ideal, so my mouse movements won't be smooth.. thus what I'm seeing. Comment
after just finished play on Lubuntu 2022.02.18.1 play on d755-8 (1920x1200) but
it's
the same as jammy on my primary/d960 box (1920x1080))

(box names are mentioned only for me; should I need to re-create/re-
test)

Obviously, I expect the behavior to be consistent.

I'll attach a video from a real instance, as this is being filed inside
my daily test box's VM. The video will make it more clear.

[Bug 1961349] Re: uneven tooltips in the application menu

2022-02-17 Thread KGIII
Adding video attachment:

See attached.

Again, it's a pretty trivial bug but it was suggested that I report it.
The video explains it better. Where it's highlighted is where the mouse
is, as the recording didn't capture the pointer.

It's also inconsistent in 20.04.3.
