*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 173966 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/173966 The solution of malokrant it works great for me in a ubuntu hardy heron system in mozilla firefox 3 beta 5, i just made this: 1.- Install the ubuntu-restricted-extras from synaptics or in the console with sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras 2.- Go into the console and write this: cd /usr/lib/firefox-3.0b5/plugins [not any other] After, you must put this: sudo ln -s /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so 3.- Write about:plugins in the navigator and you must to find the java plugin at the end of the list of plugins Use and Enjoy!!! The bug is still there in hardy beta! not sure when firefox 3 beta 4 will be added but i'm sure that a later version that beta 3 will be included with the final release. The final release should have the final version of firefox 3 otherwise it would be a bit weird having unfinished software in a final release.
