This problem haunted me as well for a good month or so. Thanks for explaining it and tracking it down to the source. The patch attached at: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=107901&action=view seems to fix the issue. It's a simple fix that modifies a .glade file and a translation file (pl.po).
