[Bug 202806] Re: Wifi connection hangs up randomly (ipw3945)
Hi Guys, If you are running hardy, care to try installing linux-backports-modules which has updated versions of the iwlwifi drivers. To know which version of the driver you currently have use modinfo. For ex: modinfo iwl3945 Please let us know your results. If the issue still exists, care to confirm this is still an issue with the latest Alpha for the upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10. You should be able to test via a LiveCD - http://www.ubuntu.com/testing. Please let us know your results. Thanks. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- Wifi connection hangs up randomly (ipw3945) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/202806 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I have a similar problem. I am using Ubuntu 8.04 on a Dell D610. In the past couple of days, both Firefox and Thunderbird hang...Skype and Pidgin seem to continue OK as I can send messages..but I cannot update pages in FF nor my inbox in Thunderbird. [Bug 202806] Re: Wifi connection hangs up randomly (ipw3945)
Same problem here with a IBM Thinkpad T40. * Wifi is resetting now and then, on a WEP wifi network. Connection is lost for a few seconds. * But when I suspend the laptop, then when resumed the wifi seems to be on, but I cannot ping or anything. * I tried disabling the wifi via special keyboard Fn Key (Fn+F5), then "rmmod ipw2100", "lsmod ipw2100", Fn+F5, but still ifconfig shows no IP (IPv4) for eth1. Network-manager is still showing correct IP... [Bug 202806] Re: Wifi connection hangs up randomly (ipw3945)
It seems I have a slightly different behaviour on hardy: I still have the messages above in /var/log/message, but then the computer completely freezes. I can only hard-reboot to get out of it. This appenned to me 3-4 times since the official hardy release. -- Wifi connection hangs up randomly (ipw3945) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/202806 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
