[Bug 212710] Re: [Hardy] network manager allows to connect via gprs, but shows offline icon
gprs was not supported by NM. Its now in NM 0.7 which is available in intrepid or my PPA (https://launchpad.net/~asac/+archive) for hardy. Take care that the PPA version isnt officially supported and sometimes I use it to test things. But in general it should be more or less usable and most as we move ahead its unlikely that it will really become unstable until we get to 0.8 development ;) ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) Status: New = Fix Released -- [Hardy] network manager allows to connect via gprs, but shows offline icon https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/212710 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 212710] Re: [Hardy] network manager allows to connect via gprs, but shows offline icon
Looking at plog and knowing the status of the connection attempt is a bit tedious. Also since nm doesn't set the status as connected, epiphany, evolution etc startup in offline mode. -- [Hardy] network manager allows to connect via gprs, but shows offline icon https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/212710 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 212710] Re: [Hardy] network manager allows to connect via gprs, but shows offline icon
Also, since Network Manager believes that it is offline, VPN connections are disabled, and unusable. I'm using KPPP to connect... perhaps that is related. -- [Hardy] network manager allows to connect via gprs, but shows offline icon https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/212710 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 212710] Re: [Hardy] network manager allows to connect via gprs, but shows offline icon
i don't think that this is a duplicate. detecting online/offline works with all other network types, but network manager does not use it for gprs/umts/ppp connections. -- [Hardy] network manager allows to connect via gprs, but shows offline icon https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/212710 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
