[Bug 220283] Re: Gnome volume OSD displays incorrectly

2009-05-14 Thread Teej
I think the only way to verify this would be to run Ubuntu and GNOME in
a StracciatellaSession. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DesktopTeam/Specs/Jaunty/StracciatellaSession
for information on how to change gdm to login on this modified GNOME
session an let us know if the issue is still there. Thanks.

Is this still a problem? Can you try with Jaunty 9.04, as the osd system
is different now. Thanks in advance.

[Bug 220283] Re: Gnome volume OSD displays incorrectly

2009-05-13 Thread Michael Rooney
It seems fixed for me; I have never seen this on Jaunty on the same
machine with the new notification system. I don't know if we can mark it
fix released for gnome-osd, as that doesn't make sense. Perhaps this bug
should be invalidated, optionally opening a new released task against
the thing that fixed it?

[Bug 220283] Re: Gnome volume OSD displays incorrectly

2009-02-07 Thread Michael Rooney
I'm having the same issue on my Dell XPS M1330 (although with Compiz so
the display looks different). Every so often when changing the volume (I
seem to particularly noticing this when increasing) the display will
make it appear as though the volume is all the way down when it
certainly isn't.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important
for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn
more about finding the right package at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this bug as a
bug in GNOME-OSD.
For future reference you might be interested to know that a lot of applications
have bug reporting functionality built in to them. This can be accessed via the
Report a Problem option in the Help menu for the application with which you are
having an issue. You can learn more about this feature at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

[Bug 220283] Re: Gnome volume OSD displays incorrectly

2008-10-05 Thread Justyn Butler
I have the same issue with Hardy, and now with my Intrepid Ibex Beta
install.

In my case the volume OSD displays correctly most of the time, but
sometimes will appear blank. So it is less severe for me but I suspect
the same bug.

If I gradually increase the volume from low to high with the multimedia
buttons on my Dell Inspiron the volume OSD level will increase also. But
at some point along the way it will show a level of 0, but the audio
will still be playing at the correct level. When I increase the volume
again the bar pops back to the correct level.

I've attached a screenshot that also contains the volume control showing
what level the volume is really at.

** Attachment added: Screenshot of OSD showing incorrect level and volume
control showing correct level.
