Re: [Bug 224068] Re: OpenOffice Writer scrollbars not displayed; previous screen area displayed
Give up, I suppose. No one seems to care besides us. :( Perhaps if we can reproduce it in Debian we can file a bug there. While you're here, why don't you go ahead and post your system and driver specs. Maybe we can find a commonality. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224068 Title: OpenOffice Writer scrollbars not displayed; previous screen area displayed -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 224068] Re: OpenOffice Writer scrollbars not displayed; previous screen area displayed
** Description changed: Binary package hint: openoffice.org The scrollbars in OpenOffice Writer are displayed incorrectly. Instead of the scrollbar, what used to be in that screen area is displayed, whether another app or the desktop. Please see the attached screenshot. I don't know if it matters, but I am using NVIDIA's proprietary drivers. I'm currently using 173.08, but this problem has been around for quite some time, and I'm finally reporting it. [Bug 224068] Re: OpenOffice Writer scrollbars not displayed; previous screen area displayed
I am using Hardy on my laptop because I still use KDE 3.5, and the current Intrepid kernel doesn't even boot on this laptop (the latest update to the kernel causes it to hang while loading a USB driver...sigh). Regardless of whether it works on Intrepid, the issue still exists on Hardy, and has existed for years. It would be great if it could be fixed. Not having scrollbars in our word processor just doesn't seem like a problem we should have in 2008. :) ** Attachment added: "lspci.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/20224086/lspci.txt ** Changed in: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24 (Ubuntu) Status: Invalid => Confirmed -- OpenOffice Writer scrollbars not displayed; previous screen area displayed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224068 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help. ** Changed in: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24 (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid -- OpenOffice Writer scrollbars not displayed; previous screen area displayed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224068 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 224068] Re: OpenOffice Writer scrollbars not displayed; previous screen area displayed
Hi launchpad-alphapapa, Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? (ISOs are available from cdimage.ubuntu.com) If it remains an issue, could you also attach a new /var/log/Xorg.0.log? Thanks in advance. The output of lspci -vvnn would also be worth having. ** Changed in: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.24 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- OpenOffice Writer scrollbars not displayed; previous screen area displayed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224068 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 224068] Re: OpenOffice Writer scrollbars not displayed; previous screen area displayed
Why was this bug assigned to linux-restricted-modules? I do not think it is a video driver problem; the only applications this ever happens in are OpenOffice apps. Not only is the scrollbar not displayed properly, but clicking in the scrollbar area does nothing, even though scrolling is possible. I think this is a problem with OpenOffice itself, or the way it's integrated with KDE/Qt. -- OpenOffice Writer scrollbars not displayed; previous screen area displayed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224068 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

This also happens in Impress, and I would guess all Openoffice apps.
