I've tried all the suggestions out on the forums, to no avail. The headphones don't mute the speakers automatically. I have to mute the speakers manually everytime. In karmic, there are two modes, headphone and speakers. So now I have to manually select the Headphone mode. Why doesn't it happen automatically? Currently I'm on Ubuntu Karmic 9.10 beta with all the latest updates installed to-date.
