[Bug 22677] Re: Suspend / resume problem with mousepad
It would seem to me that if the problem only happens during a suspend/resume, then it would be up the kernel to handle the problem. You mentioned that you also get it during a fresh boot - in this case, it could be due to Xorg not detecting the hardware correctly. Most of the discussion on this bug has been related to suspend/resume, so I would prefer to stay on that course, gather the needed information, then let the kernel team decide if it's something else. Otherwise we are just guessing. If you want to try the X related stuff, please include the information requested at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DebuggingXAutoconfiguration as separate attachments. [Bug 22677] Re: Suspend / resume problem with mousepad
My laptop is a Fujitsu/Siemens Lifebook S6120. I don't know what laptop Anders uses though. But, just to be clear, I'm pretty sure the bug is NOT due to kernel suspend. Kernel suspend probably just resets the mousepas driver as it was after a fresh start. And as I always get the "crazy mousepad" bug after a fresh start, it's quite logical that I get it after resuming my laptop, isn't it ? So, I think the real bug is the "crazy mousepad" bug, not the suspend/resume part. -- Suspend / resume problem with mousepad https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/22677 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

OK, why don't you have a look at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend as well as attach the information requested at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies Just to double check, are you using the same hardware that the OP is? Hopefully Anders Östling can respond to this report as well. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Julien, Sorry for just updating this post with another request to see if it is still a problem in 7.10, Gutsy? Anders, Julien, would it be possible for you to test for this behavior under Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy) and report your results?
