Does the corruption only happen when you are writing to smb file shares, or even to your to your local filesystem? I'm using sun-java6 6-06-0ubuntu1... I'm also experiencing this bug while opening calc files: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/32500 I guess the problem could be related to accessing files through networking (smb)? On windows platform with standard OOo community 2.4.1 installation the same files are accessed and saved properly. Anyway, after this morning update to 2.4.1-1ubuntu1 I'm stuck with this new issue: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org- amd64/+bug/236676 and cannot obviously make more tries on the original problem. Sorry to be still there but, after a morning of db form editing, the problem came up again. Tried again to remove javasettings_Linux_x86.xml without success, even tried to completely remove .openoffice.org2 but no luck.
