[Bug 242921] Re: patch to show wifi channel

2008-07-12 Thread mouz
There is additional value to have the channel number in the wifi-radar
GUI. Your patch looks good, although I did not have the chance to apply
and really test it.

Checking out the latest upstream trunk shows the channel column is in
their TODO file. Maybe things speed up a bit if you post a patch against
their latest version to their mailing list. I'd suggest a reply to
https://lists.anl.gov/pipermail/wifi-radar/2008-March/43.html.

That is effectively what this patch does behind the scenes, just adding
a nice GUI in front.

Thanks!

[Bug 242921] Re: patch to show wifi channel

2008-06-26 Thread JPL
While this issue is sorted out, what you probably want to do to figure
out a suitable channel for your wifi is something like this:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/bin$ sudo iwlist eth1 scan | grep Channel
[sudo] password for jlind:
Frequency:2.412 GHz (Channel 1)
Frequency:2.412 GHz (Channel 1)
Frequency:2.412 GHz (Channel 1)
Frequency:2.462 GHz (Channel 11)
Frequency:2.472 GHz (Channel 13)
Frequency:2.437 GHz (Channel 6)
Frequency:2.462 GHz (Channel 11)
Frequency:2.422 GHz (Channel 3)
Frequency:2.437 GHz (Channel 6)
Frequency:2.437 GHz (Channel 6)
