This bug report was filed against an old version of Ubuntu. Can you confirm whether this is still an issue in natty? I was able to get my wireless working with the restricted driver. This was a first for me as well. I've been running Hardy since Alpha 5 using ndiswrapper and with the recent updates to linux-restricted- modules-2.6.24-20-generic my Broadcom BCM4328 is showing in the restricted drivers manager as wl driver.
