[Bug 268089] [NEW] [intrepid]Kernel 2.6.27-2 fails to boot on ACER aspire 9410z without noapic
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.27-2-generic The default kernel refuses to boot shortly into the boot process. The noapic kernel option does allow it to complete the boot process. The last few lines before it hangs look like this: [1.021351] checking TSC synchronisation [CPU#0 -> CPU#1]: passed. [1.024063] Brought up 2 CPUs [1.024132] Total of 2 processors activated (6916.76 BogoMIPS). [1.025090] net_namespace: 840 bytes [1.025171] Booting paravirtualized kernel on bare hardware _ When provided with the noapic option is does show still show this message briefly, not certain if it is related.
