The git version now runs fine for me, but that's 0.15~git, whereas the Ubuntu one is still 0.14. Uh, sounds to me like it always worked fine in upstream, but never in Ubuntu because Ubuntu patches the defaults. Is that a fair analysis? I can confirm that Tares comment works. Also for solving the E: client- conf-x11.c: XOpenDisplay() failed messages mpd needs to be added to the pulse audio servers lists. Okay, if you put :
audio_output {
typepulse
nameMy MPD PulseAudio Output
}
in /etc/mpd.conf it works again. But without that it gives segmentation
fault.
