[Bug 277359] Re: MSN group chat makes CPU usage spike
The version affected was 2.4.0 in Hardy I believe. Usually MSN group chat works fine but in very specific conditions it seems to send Pidgin into an endless loop. Unfortunately I'm unable to perform a backtrace on the issue as I can't easily reproduce the error and the software required refuses to install correctly. -- MSN group chat makes CPU usage spike https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/277359 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 277359] Re: MSN group chat makes CPU usage spike
Pidgin 2.4.1 is what is included with Hardy, and what you experienced the crash with. Pidgin 2.5 included a major update of the MSN protocol, which is why it's worth testing with this version. Just a check if the problem still occurs on Intrepid (pidgin 2.5.2) would be great. If you are waiting until Intrepid is released, that is fine. If you're not planning on upgrading, you could try using the version in hardy- backports (pidgin 2.5.0). Check if the problem is there on Intrepid first, and worry about getting a backtrace later. You shouldn't have problems installing anything to get a backtrace though, as all you need are debug symbols (pidgin-dbg) and gdb. -- MSN group chat makes CPU usage spike https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/277359 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 277359] Re: MSN group chat makes CPU usage spike
MSN group chat works fine with minimal CPU usage for me. Is this still a problem with Pidgin 2.5.2 in Intrepid? -- MSN group chat makes CPU usage spike https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/277359 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
