[Bug 279816] Re: 4G FC arrays don't work properly with qla2xxx driver
Marking this Fix Released against the actively developed 2.6.31 Karmic kernel as it was noted a patch went into 2.6.25. It doesn't seem to have been backported to Hardy though. I'll go ahead and open a Hardy nomination for consideration. Thanks. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New = Fix Released ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Hardy) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Hardy) Status: New = Triaged ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Hardy) Importance: Undecided = Medium -- 4G FC arrays don't work properly with qla2xxx driver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/279816 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

As described by the patch author, please just ignore the changes to the Makefile in the referenced patch. [Bug 279816] Re: 4G FC arrays don't work properly with qla2xxx driver
I want to confirm that we had our SAN-Storage connected to the ubuntu servers not working properly with linux-image-2.6.24-23-server or earlier versions (from hardy) Applying the mentioned patch [1] resolves the issues and makes everything work fine again. Our issues were: There always were several FC paths not being visible to the host system. Now we do see all four FC paths on all LUNs as expected. Storage is EMC Clariion (CX700) with McData and Brocade Fabrics. Please apply the mentioned patch to the qla2xxx driver. Thanks! [Bug 279816] Re: 4G FC arrays don't work properly with qla2xxx driver
This bug is also present in the current linux-image-2.6.24-21-server kernel in hardy. These Qlogic controllers are, for example, delivered with the Sun X4*00 Servers of which some are certified (what ever that means) from canonical (http://www.ubuntu.com/partners/sun). No, I don't have commercial Support ... but, well, take it as a hint. I find this bug to be at least important, despite the fact that it can relatively easy be fixed. -- 4G FC arrays don't work properly with qla2xxx driver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/279816 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
