[Bug 293588] Re: script crash with assertion botched message

2009-08-24 Thread Matthias Klose
I can't see this on jaunty and karmic, checked both releases for i386
and amd64. Please can you try to reproduce this on karmic with bash-4.0?

[Bug 293588] Re: script crash with assertion botched message

2009-08-24 Thread Doron Dobrin
No. I had it on a 64bit machine on which I installed 8.10, but I no
longer work in the same place. Sorry.

2008-12-11 Thread Michal Koucky
Same with me on 64 bit Ubuntu 8.10. My scripts used to work anywhere
else.

Best regards.

hmmm... I had the problem also on a 64 bit distribution.
on a 32 bit I don't have it. a script without '#!' works fine.

[Bug 293588] Re: script crash with assertion botched message

2008-11-24 Thread Matt C
I can confirm this issue.

malloc: ../bash/dispose_cmd.c:241: assertion botched
free: called with unallocated block argument
Aborting...Aborted

It is affecting the one-line convenience scripts I have in
/home/user/bin, most of which don't bother with the #!/bin/bash line.
They work in all other versions of Linux I've used, used to work in
8.04, but they fail after an upgrade to 8.10.

Simple scripts fail like this one:

ssh -l username -x hostname

Regards
