[Bug 294295] Re: I can not install Ubuntu 8.10: OUT of RANGE
I did try dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg with the hope that it would help to make my PC operating properly. But this program freezes after the Keyboard choice and nothing is solved. Hi Mr. Teej, Since I had not any problem with previous distributions of Ubuntu, it would be logical to assume that the bug is with the Ubuntu 8.10 and likely not with xorg. [Bug 294295] Re: I can not install Ubuntu 8.10: OUT of RANGE
Hi again, It seems that there is a language barrier here. I specifically asked that you attach the file itself please, not copy and paste it, as this does not help when triagers/developers try to resolve the problems. I would suggest you use babelfish or another form of automatic translation into your native language if possible to fully understand the requests if possible for future reference. Can you please run ubuntu-bug xorg This command will make sure all the appropriate files are attached to your bug report automatically and will make life a lot easier. If you get any problems or are unsure how to do something please feel free to ask *before* you paste any output into the bug report. Thank you. ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Invalid -- I can not install Ubuntu 8.10: OUT of RANGE https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/294295 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 294295] Re: I can not install Ubuntu 8.10: OUT of RANGE
This time I did try to upgrade using gksu 'update-manager -d'. Every thing procedded fine until the program loaded. Then, again the OUT OF RANGE window appeared. I did try to start in recovery mode and I run all the suggested utilities to fix the system, with no avail!. [Bug 294295] Re: I can not install Ubuntu 8.10: OUT of RANGE
Hi, Can you just clarify which installation CD you were using Live/Alternate? I asssume the 8.10 is 32 bit same as your Hardy installation. You might want to take a look at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingUbiquity if the problem is with the Live installer. Have you tried the Install option on the LiveCD, or the Run as LiveCD option if you only tried Install? [Bug 294295] Re: I can not install Ubuntu 8.10: OUT of RANGE
Rhe CD I used is a 32 bit for Ubuntu 8.10, downloaded from Ubuntu web site. The CD tested OK with the test supplied on the installation CD. I want to remind you, that. I had the same 'OUT OF RANGE' also when I was Upgrading with gksu update manager -d. Fiddling around, ( I do not know exsactly what i did ), using the recovery display mode, I have been able to start up Ubuntu 8.10, with a resolution of 800k600, when with Ubuntu 7.04 I was using 1024x768 and Refresh Rate of 70 HZ. Now, the only Refresh Rate available is: 0 Hz.
