original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to
reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against

[Bug 294990] Re: crashes and video instability

2011-04-27 Thread bugbot
This bug report was filed against an old version of Ubuntu.
Can you confirm whether this is still an issue in natty?

If you don't mind, it would be very helpful if you could update the bug
report in launchpad to 'Fix Released' if it is no longer an issue for
you, or if it is still occurring under natty, please tag the bug 'natty'
so it's easier for us to track.

  Hello Alberto,

I apreciate your deep dedication in this project.
I'm a new linux user, but trying to be intense.

I find your forums and documents trying to solve my display resolution.
Made the 96.43.09 improvement and everything was successful, but, after the
setup, when I restart the system,
my screen turn instable, when I move the mouse everything goes messy. Sounds
to be a video crash memory, as used to happen when I worked with heavy graphics
programs in microsoft windows.
It's impossible to read and configure many windows, as the nvidia-settings in
graphic mode. The system goes down and restart every time.
I don't have time to work on yet, I think tomorrow I will try edit the
xorg.config and give you a better report.

[Bug 294990] Re: crashes and video instability

2008-11-07 Thread Bryce Harrington
Hi valentenet,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log
file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to
your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

2008-11-07 Thread Valente
Dear Bryce

I removed everything from NVIDIA and reinstalled all again, as the bellow
link shows:
http://kmandla.wordpress.com/2008/11/04/compiling-nvidia-driver-964309-on-intrepid-2627-7/
but didn´t change nothing!

Follow attached the information you request:

I changed (customized) some lines in xorg.conf and felt the system a little
bit more stabile (not good yet).
It stopped to reboot sundely. It´s possible to open many windows and
programs that wasn´t before. But stills unworkeable.
The screen do not load everything, I need pass the mouse cursor on the
blanks areas to appear the missing graphic parts.

I attached the :
'xorg.conf' with the edited lines (customized as 'False')
the new and old 'lspci log', before and after costumized the xorg.conf
the new and old 'Xorg.0', before and after costumized the xorg.conf

Re: [Bug 294990] Re: crashes and video instability

2008-11-07 Thread Valente
Bryce

I have something to add. I edit the xorg.conf with the following line:

'Section Module
 Load glx *False*

After this, when I rebooted the computer, appear a window with options to
recofigure or load the system in a LOW GRAPHIC MODE. I choose the LOW
GRAPHIC MODE.
Then the system became very stable and its possible to view everything
without a screen rendering crashes. Maybe not too fast display regenaration,
but very satisfatory.
The resolution didn´t fall down, stills in 1024x768 in a amazing 0Hz of
display refresh rate.
In the NVIDIA X Server Settings, all config choices disappears, remaning
just nvidia-settings configuration tab.

But, when I restart the computer again, the system try to do a normal boot
and chashes in to a dark screen and locked keyboard. I need to recovery the
system or re-edit the xorg to get in again.
I think a possible temporary solution should be keep the LOW GRAPHIC MODE by
defalt, but how to do it?

Atc
