This should be fixed in pcsc-lite 1.5.4 (24 June 2009) http://svn.debian.org/viewsvn/pcsclite/trunk/PCSC/ChangeLog?revision=4349view=markup - if RFAddReader() fails with the libhal scheme then we try with the (old) libusb scheme. Is it a problem/limitation in the omnikey (pcsc-omnikey package in Ubuntu multiverse and Debian non-free). This driver does not provide source code so we can't fix it.
