I can confirm this but in Gimp 2.6.1 and ubuntu 8.10. It happens every time when you close gimp and launch it again. The position and the size of the boxes are NOT memorized. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better, but unfortunately I've been unable to reproduce your issue on Ubuntu 8.10. Gimp started correctly the first time I launched it, and each time after that it remember how I resized and positioned the Toolbox and other dialogs. Hi Lupine. You're right, the position and the size of the boxes are memorized, I was speaking about the first launch, i. e. when you've just installed the system and then you try The Gimp. In fact, that's not a problem for me, because I'm used to Ubuntu and I resize the windows in 5 seconds, but for a new user, he has to know that they are still some tools in the back of the hidden boxes and he has to try to resize it himself. He could be a frustration point for him. After that, there is no problem at all but... ok it's a minor bug.
