I believe my problem is similar, but would like to add a new twist: The thesaurus feature is available when the cursor is in some locations, but not available in other locations on a document. There doesn't seem to be any reason for this, but as I move randomly throughout the document, the thesaurus feature is accessible. I will be happy to provide any information necessary to resolve this issue.
