[Bug 351244] Re: Wifi Broadcom on 9.04 beta

2009-12-04 Thread ^_Pepe_^
This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in
it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try
with the latest Karmic 9.10 release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are
available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If the issue remains, could you run the following command from a
Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal) while running Karmic. It
will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this
report.

apport-collect -p linux 351244

Thanks in advance

[Bug 351244] Re: Wifi Broadcom on 9.04 beta

2009-03-30 Thread AmSan
I think I've found a work around to this problem - which may shed some
light on why its happening.

I tried to install the Broadcom driver using:
sudo apt-get install b43-fwcutter

b43-fwcutter was already the latest version, on configuring however saw
the following error:

..
Setting up b43-fwcutter (1:011-5) ...

So:

I followed the instructions from:

http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Drivers/b43

See under: You are using the b43 driver from linux-2.6.25 or newer

You probably won't need to make the executable from source.
Just download the firmware and it should work fine.
