[Bug 362061] Re: KDE4.2 system settings no second screen
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 403610 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/403610 Hi Mark, thanks for the info, I think it is the corrrect direction, however the virtual display size is too small. Is it possible to extend the display size? here is the output: xrandr --output LVDS --auto xrandr --output LVDS --right-of VGA xrandr: screen cannot be larger than 2048x2048 (desired size 3080x1050) -- KDE4.2 system settings no second screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/362061 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 403610 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/403610 The original author of this bug had an ATI graphics card and I suppose it's a duplicate of the bug I mentioned before.Report issues to this one. [Bug 362061] Re: KDE4.2 system settings no second screen
I suppose this is a duplicate of this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdebase-workspace/+bug/403610 @rudolf,nicholas: try this: xrandr --output LVDS1 --auto xrandr --output LVDS1 --right-of DVI1 The output connector names you can get by issuing xrandr without parameters. @mark: if you reable XRandR 1.2 support again, you could try the same. But in general krandrtray is broken upstream regarding management of multiple monitors in as linked above. -- KDE4.2 system settings no second screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/362061 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase-workspace in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 362061] Re: KDE4.2 system settings no second screen
Update: I have been able to finally get a big desktop dual monitor set up using the proprietary fglrx driver but it was not very easy or clear cut how to do so. I eventually had to disable randr in /etc/X11/xorg.conf with the following option added in the Driver section. Options EnableRandR12 false Then I was able to use aticonfig to set a big desktop. Before doing that, there was no way to get dual monitors to work as a big desktop in KDE/Jaunty with any driver. With randr enabled all the options to set a big desktop with aticonfig or the Catalyst Control Center fail with messages about randr being incompatible with xinerama. I suspect that I would also be able to disable randr and use xinerama to acheive a big desktop with the Radeon driver but I have not tried that. -- KDE4.2 system settings no second screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/362061 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to kdebase in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

I am using an R60 and it also does not show the option for clone or dual screen. In the monitor, it just gives the option for screen 1.
