[Bug 362964] Re: NetworkManager stops running after disconnecting broadband mobile card
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance. -- NetworkManager stops running after disconnecting broadband mobile card https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/362964 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 362964] Re: NetworkManager stops running after disconnecting broadband mobile card
re my previous remark.. I just found out that on my Jaunty test machine with the broadband mobile card, after the connection is made there is no default gateway. The correct default gw is set on my Intrepid machine. That is probably why my Jaunty machine cannot find any anything. I do not know if that is a problem of NetworkManager. I filed it as a separate bug (366711). Does anyone know where to set the default gateway in networkmanager ppp connections?? -- NetworkManager stops running after disconnecting broadband mobile card https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/362964 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 362964] Re: NetworkManager stops running after disconnecting broadband mobile card
I installed 9.04 today on my test system and got the same results. Disconnecting the broadband mobile card (or removing it) stopped NetworkManager. And apart from that, Firefox did not seem to recognize the broadband connection at all, as it could not connect to any website. Like it was OffLine, except that Firefox did not state it was in OffLine mode. Do you think I should report this as a separate bug?? Ubuntu Intrepid recognizes the card without any problem and I connect to KPN's mobile network by choosing gthe appropriate radiobutton in NetworkManager. Every now and then however, the connection is lost due to network coverage problems. When that happens the NetworkManager stops running and I have to restart it manually (sudo /etc/init.d/NetworkManager restart) to reconnect to the mobile network. package network-manager-gnome 0.7~~svn20081020t000444-0ubuntu1.8.10.2 I would expect networkmanager to keep running. Re: [Bug 362964] Re: NetworkManager stops running after disconnecting broadband mobile card
Hi Alexander There is no crash file created. Not when I choose disconnect in hte NMapplet menu, and not when I just remove the card. When I am connected to my Wireless LAN and to the KPN Mobile network at the same time, the applet shows the Wireless icon (blue pan-flute like). Choosing disconnect or removing the carde will stop networmanager.
