[Bug 363329] Re: don't mount usb mass storage of samsung phone (SGH-A736)

2010-05-04 Thread Peter Lemieux
Well, we've made some progress with 10.04, but unfortunately not enough
to make things actually work.

I can now see my LG MG810 with Dolphin on Kubuntu Lucid, but I can't
actually move any files. I see the folders and can list the files, but
trying to copy them to the hard drive brings on this sequence:

[Bug 363329] Re: don't mount usb mass storage of samsung phone (SGH-A736)

2010-01-15 Thread demosthene1
I have a Samsung R451C. It won't mount in Ubuntu Juanty with the latest
update. It is the Qualcomm chips. Doesn't work across the board in the
new Linux kernel. I dual boot into an older version of Puppy (420) and
it will mount the phone as mass storage device. The new version of
Puppy, as Juanty or Karmic, won't work.

[Bug 363329] Re: don't mount usb mass storage of samsung phone (SGH-A736)

2009-12-05 Thread pwiebe
I'm also having problems mounting my cell phone. I have an LG VX-8700
phone that mounted perfectly under Ubuntu 8.10, it hasn't since. I'm now
using 9.10. It still works fine under Windows Vista.

I've included my output from ls usb -vv, maybe this will help get the
problem solved. There must be a simple fix. Here's more info about my
system.

Linux Bert 2.6.31-16-generic #52-Ubuntu SMP Thu Dec 3 22:07:16 UTC 2009
x86_64 GNU/Linux

Hopefully this problem can be resolved soon, I don't like having to
switch to Vista to use my phone as a mass storage device.

2009-11-17 Thread Peter Lemieux
Tried again to connect using the release version of Karmic on two
different machines, one with it installed (amd64 this time) and one
using the LiveCD (i386). Both fail.

The only difference between my report above and the sequence of entries
in /var/log/messages now is that the line that formerly read

Aug 11 11:02:17 office kernel: [11762.685855] sd 3:0:0:0: [sdd] Result:
hostbyte=DID_NO_CONNECT driverbyte=DRIVER_OK,SUGGEST_OK

no longer has "SUGGEST_OK", just "DRIVER_OK". Otherwise there's still
no connection.

[Bug 363329] Re: don't mount usb mass storage of samsung phone (SGH-A736)

2009-07-31 Thread Leann Ogasawara
Just want to try and keep this report up to date. Care to test and
confirm this remains with the latest Karmic 9.10 release? ISO CD images
can be found at http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/karmic/ . You should
be able to test using a LiveCD. Thanks.

2009-05-09 Thread Cristian Molina
I have both, Intrepid & Jaunty installed, same behavior.
Maybe we need to confirmate the bug with other user, because in Windows
sometimes fail to mount storage also (but always works in PC-Studio mode)

dmesg out in Jaunty

[Bug 363329] Re: don't mount usb mass storage of samsung phone (SGH-A736)

2009-05-08 Thread Leann Ogasawara
Hi Cristian,

I see you are running the older 2.6.27 Intrepid kernel. Can you test
and confirm this issue remains with the more recent Jaunty 9.04 release
which has a 2.6.28 based kernel. You should be able to test using a
LiveCD. http://www.ubuntu.com/news/ubuntu-9.04-desktop . Please let us
know your results. Thanks.
