[Bug 363329] Re: don't mount usb mass storage of samsung phone (SGH-A736)
Well, we've made some progress with 10.04, but unfortunately not enough to make things actually work. I can now see my LG MG810 with Dolphin on Kubuntu Lucid, but I can't actually move any files. I see the folders and can list the files, but trying to copy them to the hard drive brings on this sequence: May 4 18:34:55 lunakitty kernel: [ 3829.776180] usb 5-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 12 May 4 18:34:55 lunakitty kernel: [ 3829.920806] usb 5-1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice May 4 18:34:55 lunakitty kernel: [ 3829.923806] scsi4 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices May 4 18:35:00 lunakitty kernel: [ 3834.928815] scsi 4:0:0:0: Direct-Access CL HERA USB MASS STORAGE 1.10 PQ: 0 ANSI: 2 May 4 18:35:00 lunakitty kernel: [ 3834.930459] sd 4:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg2 type 0 May 4 18:35:00 lunakitty kernel: [ 3834.943681] sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] 253056 512-byte logical blocks: (129 MB/123 MiB) May 4 18:35:00 lunakitty kernel: [ 3834.946674] sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] Write Protect is off May 4 18:35:00 lunakitty kernel: [ 3834.959669] sdb: May 4 18:35:00 lunakitty kernel: [ 3834.976689] sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] Attached SCSI removable disk May 4 18:35:41 lunakitty kernel: [ 3875.100213] usb 5-1: reset full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 12 May 4 18:36:11 lunakitty kernel: [ 3905.644214] usb 5-1: reset full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 12 May 4 18:36:42 lunakitty kernel: [ 3936.188214] usb 5-1: reset full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 12 May 4 18:36:52 lunakitty kernel: [ 3946.544151] usb 5-1: reset full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 12 May 4 18:37:02 lunakitty kernel: [ 3956.788185] usb 5-1: USB disconnect, address 12 May 4 18:37:02 lunakitty kernel: [ 3956.790585] sd 4:0:0:0: Device offlined - not ready after error recovery May 4 18:37:02 lunakitty kernel: [ 3956.790664] sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] Unhandled error code May 4 18:37:02 lunakitty kernel: [ 3956.790670] sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] Result: hostbyte=DID_NO_CONNECT driverbyte=DRIVER_OK May 4 18:37:02 lunakitty kernel: [ 3956.790681] sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] CDB: Read(10): 28 00 00 00 05 ff 00 00 99 00 May 4 18:37:02 lunakitty kernel: [ 3956.793664] VFS: busy inodes on changed media or resized disk sdb May 4 18:37:02 lunakitty kernel: [ 3956.796350] VFS: busy inodes on changed media or resized disk sdb May 4 18:37:02 lunakitty kernel: [ 3956.808110] VFS: busy inodes on changed media or resized disk sdb May 4 18:37:02 lunakitty kernel: [ 3956.808175] VFS: busy inodes on changed media or resized disk sdb May 4 18:37:02 lunakitty kernel: [ 3956.925032] usb 5-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 13 Perhaps we're not too far away from a solution? -- don't mount usb mass storage of samsung phone (SGH-A736) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/363329 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I dual boot into an older version of Puppy (420) and it will mount the phone as mass storage device. Hi Cristian, I see you are running the older 2.6.27 Intrepid kernel. Can you test and confirm this issue remains with the more recent Jaunty 9.04 release which has a 2.6.28 based kernel. You should be able to test using a LiveCD. http://www.ubuntu.com/news/ubuntu-9.04-desktop . Please let us know your results. Thanks. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- don't mount usb mass storage of samsung phone (SGH-A736) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/363329 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
