Hi, Ok. Thanks. Let's see if it happens to somebody else, as well. Hi! I think the bug report is complete, but I would like someone else to confirm this bug. So I'll set the status back to New and wait for someone to confirm this bug. I can't do it because it's working fine in my laptop. ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = New -- Some files and folders problems in Ubuntu 9.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/370990 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html and Reporting Bugs https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. To be considered complete, a bug report should normally contain: * The version of Ubuntu you are running * The version of the package you are using (look at Synaptic Package Manager) * The actions taken to produce the problem * Whether or not it is possible to reproduce the bug * The expected result of these actions * The actual result of these actions Something very useful is to add more information running this in a terminal: apport-collect 370990 ** Package changed: ubuntu = nautilus (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- Some files and folders problems in Ubuntu 9.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/370990 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Still happens in 9.10; that drag and drop a folder from Desktop to personal folder not moves it (cut and paste) but it makes a copy of it and the initial folder remains at the Desktop (copy and paste). Although just the first attempt since the restart. -- Some files and folders problems in Ubuntu 9.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/370990 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 370990] Re: Some files and folders problems in Ubuntu 9.04
I've re-installed Ubuntu 9.04 and things are fully Ok now. I got not more problems relating folders and files. The whole OS works like a Swiss clock. Perhaps it is because this time I had wired Internet connection from the beginning (instead installing it without Internet and then enabling wifi, as before). Or perhaps it just was that Ubuntu did not install properly the first time for some reason pertaining the CD or whatever, as it also happens with Windows sometimes. Also it has nothing to do with installing the respective ATI drivers, as this time everything goes Ok, also after installing it. But, the only thing I have confirmed it is that, once installed the privative ATI drivers, the screen not longer turns-off despite it's so set up after a specific time of not activity (it only still works the screensaver).
Further, sometimes, all icons on the desktop disappear, and then mouse buttons don't work over the desktop (although it still work Ok in other places, like in the panels and opening applications, etc. Last time it happened, I was trying to get the properties of a UDF volume (a DVD-RW), then its window has frozen and all desktop icons were gone (personal folder icon, trash icon, etc. and all the web pages I downloaded to the desktop). Only by restarting the system things are Ok again. -- Some files and folders problems in Ubuntu 9.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/370990 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
