[Bug 380511] Re: installation of HomeBank removes ING 'HomeBank

2011-02-20 Thread Adrien Cunin
As I understand it, it's a name clash with a third-party package. We
(the Ubuntu community) can't do anything about this, therefore I'm
closing this bug.

** Changed in: homebank (Ubuntu)
   Status: New => Invalid

This problem should become obsolete once ING issue their new card
readers.

In my opinion ING homebank package should include ING somewhere into the
name to avoid any confusion.

I would actually recommend not installing the deb at all and instead
using the Windows package in Wine. I had problems of memory hogging with
the Linux package, but no problem with the Windows binary.

[Bug 380511] Re: installation of HomeBank removes ING 'HomeBank

2010-09-01 Thread manu
As a workaround, uninstall ubuntu's homebank, install ING homebank deb
package, install synaptic, then, in synaptic, search for homebank and
select Package->Lock version. This will prevent ING homebank to be
overwritten by an update.

[Bug 380511] Re: installation of HomeBank removes ING 'HomeBank

2010-09-01 Thread manu
Please Robert, contact also ING about this. I did already. The complains
to ING should come from their customers. Anyone suffering from these (or
the really crappy and outdated ING deb package) should complain to ING
directly, so they know there is a problem. Perhaps suggest that they
contact Canonical for support.
