[Bug 380511] Re: installation of HomeBank removes ING 'HomeBank
As I understand it, it's a name clash with a third-party package. We (the Ubuntu community) can't do anything about this, therefore I'm closing this bug. ** Changed in: homebank (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/380511 Title: installation of HomeBank removes ING 'HomeBank -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 380511] Re: installation of HomeBank removes ING 'HomeBank
This problem should become obsolete once ING issue their new card readers. -- installation of HomeBank removes ING 'HomeBank https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/380511 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 380511] Re: installation of HomeBank removes ING 'HomeBank
In my opinion ING homebank package should include ING somewhere into the name to avoid any confusion.
I would actually recommend not installing the deb at all and instead using the Windows package in Wine. I had problems of memory hogging with the Linux package, but no problem with the Windows binary.
As a workaround, uninstall ubuntu's homebank, install ING homebank deb package, install synaptic, then, in synaptic, search for homebank and select Package->Lock version. This will prevent ING homebank to be overwritten by an update.
Please Robert, contact also ING about this. I did already. The complains to ING should come from their customers. Anyone suffering from these (or the really crappy and outdated ING deb package) should complain to ING directly, so they know there is a problem. Perhaps suggest that they contact Canonical for support. -- installation of HomeBank removes ING 'HomeBank https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/380511 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
