[Bug 408757] Re: init sscript has no Usage option

2012-03-05 Thread Andrew Starr-Bochicchio
Hi Paul,

Thanks for your work on this! I've just uploaded it.

I did make one minor change. I set the maintainer to Ubuntu Developers
 and moved the Debian Maintainer
to the XSBC-Original-Maintainer field. This is something that should be
done each time we change a package originating from Debian as per this
spec: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebianMaintainerField

Thanks again!

[Bug 408757] Re: init sscript has no Usage option

2012-02-28 Thread Andrew Starr-Bochicchio
I imagine we should drop

"It is not part of official Debian and not built by default. You can
enable building of this package in debian/rules."

nsca-client's description.

[Bug 408757] Re: init sscript has no Usage option

2012-02-16 Thread Paul Belanger
After talking with the upstream maintainer, they also agree it is the
best approach. I've already submitted a pull request to Debian,
attached is the debdiff for Ubuntu.

[Bug 408757] Re: init sscript has no Usage option

2012-02-15 Thread Paul Belanger
Understood, as it stands right now either 1 or the other package can be
installed. This might not be the idea solution right now, but I am
reluctant to rework the package control file for this release right now.

I do agree that dropping the conflict and adding a depends on the nsca-
client package might be the best approach to take for the next version
included into Debian Sid. I'll bring it up with the upstream maintainer
and see what he thinks.

[Bug 408757] Re: init sscript has no Usage option

2012-02-15 Thread Stefano Rivera
I don't think the description of the resulting nsca-client package is
ideal. Shouldn't nsca_client be removed from the server package (and the
conflict dropped)?

In fact, I suggest asking the Debian maintainer what his plans are for
bringing the package back. Might as well use the same approach...
