Sorry for the delayed response. Could you please make sure your system is fully up-to-date and let us know if you are still seeing icons in the system menus and Firefox? Thank you for the response. In Lucid, the Interface tab has been removed from the Appearance settings. If you wish to enable/disable icons in menus, you must run 'gksu gconf-editor' then navigate to 'desktop' 'gnome' 'interface'. Then you will find a check box for icons in the menus. While testing this on a Live USB of Lucid Alpha 3, my icons were disabled in menus by default and I could not enable them, so hopefully you will have better luck. However, on Karmic I was able to disable/enable icons in the Firefox menus without any trouble.
