[Bug 456339] Re: evolution crashed with SIGSEGV in camel_store_get_folder_info()
This is just to confirm my suspicions in my previous comment (#7) -- since disabling my exchange account, I've had no further instability with Evolution. -- evolution crashed with SIGSEGV in camel_store_get_folder_info() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/456339 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 456339] Re: evolution crashed with SIGSEGV in camel_store_get_folder_info()
Ok...I'll submit a new bug with apport. (Just did it: bug 474493) The reason I chimed in here was because I was in the middle of submitting the error using apport, when it asked me is this your bug? with about 10 to choose from. The error is the same and the stack trace is the same for this bug, so I said yes. Nevertheless, I'll post a new one. -- evolution crashed with SIGSEGV in camel_store_get_folder_info() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/456339 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Richard, please open a new bug with apport, this is probably not the same you're facing there.
This is happening for me every time I start Evolution. I seem to remember it successfully starting up at least once after the upgrade to Karmic, but now it crashes every time. I'm running i686 Ubuntu 9.10. I've installed the debug symbols, yet when gdb starts up, it keeps there are no debug symbols. I've attached the gdb and valgrind output anyway. If anyone can tell me why installing the debug symbols didn't work, I can re-do them. Workaround: start up evolution in offline mode from a terminal. 'evolution --offline' Once it successfully starts, go to the File menu and click on 'Work Online'. ** Attachment added: gdb session http://launchpadlibrarian.net/34975173/gdb-evolution2.txt -- evolution crashed with SIGSEGV in camel_store_get_folder_info() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/456339 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I've followed the instructions at the link provided. Of course, now that it knows that I'm watching, it hasn't crashed. As soon as it does, I'll attached the backtrace.

This time, evolution didn't crash... it just hung whist fetching messages, requiring me to kill the process (using xkill). Here is the backtrace from that session. The more I watch what is going on, the more I think it has something to do with the evolution-exchange plugin (see bug #456642) since the trouble all seems to occur when accessing my exchange account. I've disabled my exchange account to see if that stops the instability that I've been seeing since the last batch of updates which also included updates to evolution. ** Attachment added: gdb-evolution.txt http://launchpadlibrarian.net/34118552/gdb-evolution.txt -- evolution crashed with SIGSEGV in camel_store_get_folder_info() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/456339 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
