[Bug 461084] Re: int mic stops functioning after selecting input only from duplex
on the latest build 10.4 I have no sound playing on videos or on boot. This was temporarily resolved with an upgrade of memory to 2gb on 9.10, however returned when I updated to 10.4 yesterday. ** Tags removed: needs-test-current-image ** Tags removed: apport-collected -- int mic stops functioning after selecting input only from duplex https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/461084 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 461084] Re: int mic stops functioning after selecting input only from duplex
Hi nick, Please, if you are still having issues, test with the latest development release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p alsa-base 461084 Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs- upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. [This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.] ** Tags added: kj-triage needs-required-logs needs-test-current-image no-sound-mic ** Changed in: alsa-driver (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- int mic stops functioning after selecting input only from duplex https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/461084 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 461084] Re: int mic stops functioning after selecting input only from duplex
I am able to select either of the tabs, however it makes no difference to the sound - i loose the mic and the audio playback, a reboot brings back the playback but either starts at mute or no sound. if it starts at mute the mic will usually initiate and the bars will move with a sound, however loose the mic and playback if I attempt to adjust the input tab from duplex 2009/10/26 Luke Yelavich > What happens if you select an output + input profile, or do you not have > that option? > > -- > int mic stops functioning after selecting input only from duplex > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/461084 > You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber > of the bug. > > Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu: New > > Bug description: > on install worked ok, apart from v quiet recording (if amplified then > subsequent hiss made recording v difficult to hear, volumes greatley > reduced. > > once selected input only, then unable to reselect duplex and all rec > functionality lost. > > ProblemType: Bug > AplayDevices: > List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices > card 0: MID [HDA Intel MID], device 0: ALC888 Analog [ALC888 Analog] > Subdevices: 1/1 > Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 > Architecture: i386 > AudioDevicesInUse: > USERPID ACCESS COMMAND > /dev/snd/controlC0: knick620 1453 F pulseaudio > Card0.Amixer.info: > Card hw:0 'MID'/'HDA Intel MID at 0xdff5c000 irq 19' > Mixer name : 'Realtek ALC888' > Components : 'HDA:10ec0888,14621002,00100202' > Controls : 21 > Simple ctrls : 13 > CheckboxCommand: alsa_record_playback > CheckboxTest: alsa_record_playback_alternates > Date: Mon Oct 26 13:24:50 2009 > DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 > Package: alsa-base 1.0.20+dfsg-1ubuntu5 > PackageArchitecture: all > ProcEnviron: > SHELL=/bin/bash > LANG=en_GB.UTF-8 > ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-14.48-generic > SourcePackage: alsa-driver > Tags: ubuntu-unr checkbox-bug > Uname: Linux 2.6.31-14-generic i686 > -- Nick Thewlis-Smith 07817 065731 -- int mic stops functioning after selecting input only from duplex https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/461084 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
