Hello. as I said in my message of 2010-02-05 the bug disappeared in karmic after the kernel release 2.6.31-19. I tested also with lucid release candidate kernel 2.6.32-21-generic and my disk is working correctly. Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal). Hello, after installing latest kernel update in Karmic 2.6.31-19 my external hard disk was correctly recognized again. I was able to re-create an empty partition (ext4) on the disk and to mount correctly it. Should it be already available on kernel 2.6.31-15 ?
