[Bug 480497] Re: Various applications freeze on exit.

2010-08-02 Thread Terry Herckenrath
This problem happens to me when running multiple tabs (10) in Chrome all
running the same web page which uses Javascript to access the Google
geocoding api. The page doesn't use Flash or sound.

After a number of hours Chrome becomes unresponsive and when I close
Chrome I can hear heavy disk activity that doesn't stop until I
terminate the chrome process in System Monitor, which usually takes two
attempts before the process is actually killed.

This leads me to wonder whether this may be caused by Javascript memory
leaks...

When this problem occurs my memory consumption is over 50% of available
memory (I only have 1 Gig) and processor loads hovers around 20% (single
64-bit AMD) with no other user programs running other than Chrome and
System Monitor.

after starting a call. Also hanged on close.

a reverse audio problem here. only seems to affect firefox, which then cannot

everything else works normally, including audio from other apps.

2010-04-09 Thread Ansus
I have the same problem in OpenSUSE 11.2 with some games such as
America's Army. After exit from this game, the process armyops-bin still
resides in memory with "futex_wait_queue_me" tag, and there is no sound
in other applications until the process terminated manually.

When run under root, the game exits successfully.

Does your machine have a TV card or an Audigy soundcard? My problem seems to
have been resolved after a full reinstall of the operating system. Still not
sure what caused the issue but I have a gut feeling that it may have
something to do with either my soundcard or the completely unnecessary
driver build I went thruogh for my WinTV hvr 1600 card. Little did I realize
that the operating system has out-of-the-box support for it.
