Hi Jeremy, as promised, I tested this issue with 10.4 LTS and 2.6.31-21 kernel. Everything works as expected, without any problems. This bug report can be closed. Hi Jeremy, this problem is still an issue on my Asus EeePC 901 with latest official update of release 9.10 with latest kernel version. I will try and let you know if it still persists when official release of 10.04 will be available in few days. [Bug 483841] Re: Kernel crashes when switching to external monitor with Fn+F5 key (ASUS eeePC 901)
Additional information that might be helpful: 1) The same result (system hangs up) you can get if you use Display dialog instead of Fn+F5 combination to switch to external monitor (or vise versa); 2) The way how system hangs up is similar to Fn+F2 bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/404626); 3) If I use xrandr to change target monitor, it works without any problem (xrandr --output VGA1 --auto xrandr --output LVDS1 --off) 4) The kernel update 2.6.31-15, that was recently delivered, did not fix ti; 5) If I use ONLY external monitor and put my system to suspend mode closing netbook lid, it turns on BOTH (VGA and LCD) monitors when wakes up. With Jaunty it worked correct; -- Kernel crashes when switching to external monitor with Fn+F5 key (ASUS eeePC 901) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/483841 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
