[Bug 525646] Re: udisks-daemon takes up too much CPU resources
Killing udisks seemed to help. I notice that this problem is tied to udevd for the Optiarc DVD RW AD-7560S drive. I filled out a bug report there too. [Bug 525646] Re: udisks-daemon takes up too much CPU resources
Thanks for the feedback. I tried doing what you asked but it did not go away. Besides that command stays in the foreground and does not return control back to me unless I terminate it with Ctrl+C. Even if I put it into the background top still shows udisks-daemon as being the no 1 process always. I put it into the background by keeping a separate shell window open for root purposes and sent it to the background from there. The load has not dropped at all. Also I have a USB mouse and a USB keyboard always plugged in. Other than that nothing else is plugged in. BTW this is a new issue, did not happen in 9.04 the load was stable then. I have not tried 9.10. -- udisks-daemon takes up too much CPU resources https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/525646 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 525646] Re: udisks-daemon takes up too much CPU resources
They should not do anything unless GNOME is actually talking through them (e. g. palimpsest, the "disk utility in the menu; or you plug in an USB drive). Can you please do sudo /usr/lib/udisks/udisks-daemon --replace it should settle after some 2 seconds. Doesn't it for you? Do you get any permanent output? Does "top" show any activity from them? ** Changed in: udisks (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- udisks-daemon takes up too much CPU resources https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/525646 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
