[Bug 571378] Re: C-Media USB Headphone fails to enummerate
My C-Media USB Headphone works using kernel 2.6.32-22-generic. I had this problem on 2.6.32-23-generic and 2.6.32-24-generic. I use Ubuntu Lucid (64-bit) with all updates. When I plug in my headphone and boot into 2.6.32-23-generic or 2.6.32-24-generic, my kernel says something like: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 61s! ** Attachment added: Output of lspci -vvnx http://launchpadlibrarian.net/52731917/Lspci.txt -- C-Media USB Headphone fails to enummerate https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/571378 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 571378] Re: C-Media USB Headphone fails to enummerate
Georg, this sounds like a different problem in your case. Could you open a new bug with ubuntu-bug linux? Also add whether this happens too, if you plug in the headset later. If you can trigger the issue by plugging in later, you might gather some more information by following the following instructions (it is not the same issue but the gathered data might help as well). [Bug 571378] Re: C-Media USB Headphone fails to enummerate
Thank you, Stefan. Its probably a combination of two (or more) bugs in my case (#433782 also affects me). syslog gave me very similiar output to Joey Stanfords syslog (see above), that's why I thought that this is the same problem. [Bug 571378] Re: C-Media USB Headphone fails to enummerate
Hi Joey, This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux 571378 Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance. [This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.] ** Tags added: needs-kernel-logs ** Tags added: needs-upstream-testing ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- C-Media USB Headphone fails to enummerate https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/571378 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
