For the "reason not-linked" errors, this is probably related to https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=626733 ... but for the rest, I'm not sure. ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #626733 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=626733 -- PiTiVi 0.13.4 on Ubuntu 10.04 error! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574092 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I rec. a similar error.. using Ubunto 10.04 There are four errors.. when using an AVI container the file is rendered out and works but the render hangs and says "1 sec" left.. (forever). Yes, you need to go in the terminal and start pitivi as Jean-Francois mentionned. -- PiTiVi 0.13.4 on Ubuntu 10.04 error! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574092 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi. If I encounter any errors about "GStreamer" in future, I will attempt to provide the log requested by Jean-Francois. I'm not sure how to run PiTiVi how Jean-Francois described. Do I have to go into the Ubuntu Terminal to do that? [Bug 574092] Re: PiTiVi 0.13.4 on Ubuntu 10.04 error!
All those issues (because there are more than one in this report) either already exist in upstream bugtracker or aren't really bugs: * Youtube not accepting theora 1.1 : their problem, not ours. You seem to have found a format that works. * Having a "optimised for youtube" rendering format : since we don't control what youtube uses on any given day... there isn't much we can do (at least with free formats) * Black border issues : https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=615569 As for what errors you had, you didn't provide the log Jean-Francois requested in the first comment. We need this to solve issues further. ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #615569 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=615569 -- PiTiVi 0.13.4 on Ubuntu 10.04 error! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574092 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 574092] Re: PiTiVi 0.13.4 on Ubuntu 10.04 error!
Thanks for your help. It's a nice community here. :) Yes I get black bars both vertically AND horizontally. I have so far found a flash format that seems to work with YouTube, albeit with some video compression, but it does have the advantage of making the final file size smaller and this makes it faster to upload to YouTube. If I could find a "wish-list" for PiTiVi, I would definitely put at the top of the wish-list: a rendering mode "optimised for YouTube". Thank you for your help, much appreciated. -- PiTiVi 0.13.4 on Ubuntu 10.04 error! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574092 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 574092] Re: PiTiVi 0.13.4 on Ubuntu 10.04 error!
Pitivi/gstreamer will use whatever version of the libtheora package you have installed on your system. This means that you need to downgrade to libtheora 1.0 by either sticking to older distros or compiling 1.0 by hand. Changing pitivi versions will not change the fact that your theora videos are not correctly decoded by Youtube. This is Youtube's problem (or you could use a different codec than theora to upload to youtube). > "If I save my video as Flash video, my video ends up playing in a small box." Do you mean it has black bars on some sides? Then have you set the project settings resolution and the render resolution to correctly match your video's aspect ratio? If not, you'll get those bars. -- PiTiVi 0.13.4 on Ubuntu 10.04 error! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574092 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 574092] Re: PiTiVi 0.13.4 on Ubuntu 10.04 error!
Thanks for your reply. How do I get PiTiVi to use libtheora 1.0 and NOT 1.1? If that's not possible, can I download and install the older version of PiTiVi? I don't like this newer version. If I save my video as Flash video, my video ends up playing in a small box. Sometimes when you try to render a video, nothing happens. The old version seemed to work fine - or am I just unlucky lol. I really appreciate your help readers. :) -- PiTiVi 0.13.4 on Ubuntu 10.04 error! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574092 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 574092] Re: PiTiVi 0.13.4 on Ubuntu 10.04 error!
The reason why you didn't have this problem with the previous version of pitivi in Ubuntu 9.10 is because 9.10 shipped with libtheora 1.0, not 1.1. -- PiTiVi 0.13.4 on Ubuntu 10.04 error! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574092 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 574092] Re: PiTiVi 0.13.4 on Ubuntu 10.04 error!
Quote: "Concerning your "youtube thinks the videos are corrupt" problem, if you are using ogg theora, this is because youtube doesn't support videos encoded with theora 1.1." I never had this problem with the previous version of PiTiVi. I could simply edit an .avi file and render it (using the default rendering settings in PiTiVi) and it would give me a Theora video file, which would be uploaded to YouTube with no problems. Yes it will still use Theora now, but YouTube will "corrupt" the video after uploading. I haven't had the error message about "GStreamer" today, but I can't render a video as Theora and upload it to YouTube without it being corrupted by YouTube. It worked fine before in the previous version and was used in exactly the same way. [Bug 574092] Re: PiTiVi 0.13.4 on Ubuntu 10.04 error!
You need to be more specific about the error. Without precise repro instructions, this is not helpful in knowing what happened. It needs to be consistently reproducible, and ideally with debug logs. You could create debug logs by running pitivi like this, for example: PITIVI_DEBUG=*:5 GST_DEBUG=2 /usr/bin/pitivi > debug.log 2>&1 Concerning your "youtube thinks the videos are corrupt" problem, if you are using ogg theora, this is because youtube doesn't support videos encoded with theora 1.1. ** Changed in: pitivi (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- PiTiVi 0.13.4 on Ubuntu 10.04 error! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574092 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
