I should mention that I'm no longer getting any error messages, and the rsync is more or less successful, but permissions, owner and group settings are not transferred; I can see that by repeating the same invocation with --itemize-changes: .f...pog... etc/wpa_supplicant/functions.sh .f...pog... etc/wpa_supplicant/ifupdown.sh .d...pog... etc/xdg/ .f...pog... etc/xdg/Trolltech.conf Can you also show us the mount options for your ntfs-3g partition? /dev/sdb1 on /media/FotoPassport type fuseblk (rw,nosuid,nodev,allow_other,blksize=4096,default_permissions) Also, can you successfully rsync non-ecryptfs data to your ntfs-3g partition? It works the same with or without ecryptfs.
