It is possible to modify these entries during installation but not during uninstallation? Anyway, perhaps I have a nice and easy fix for this. It is still happening with 0.87. It is not really the packaging question - you simply cannot do, what you'd like to do, during package uninstallation - the whole process is ran as the root user, and there is no way to reset gconf settings at this point for users. I'll try asking some folks about it, but for now I don't see a clean solution. This problem exists in both packages (Ubuntu archive and PPA). When configuring the keybindings (see Shutter's preferences) the following GConf keys are modified: /apps/metacity/global_keybindings/run_command_screenshot /apps/metacity/global_keybindings/run_command_window_screenshot /apps/metacity/keybinding_commands/command_screenshot /apps/metacity/keybinding_commands/command_window_screenshot When removing the package those values are still configured for Shutter. Hey I have got a workaround: Just reinstall Shutter. go to Edit- preferences - Keyboard and uncheck the boxes. Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. However, a paper cut should be a small usability issue, in the default Ubuntu install, that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't be addressed as part of this project. - Shutter is not in the default install , hence not a papercut.
