Does it happen with no command-line options, including not torrent, or with specific torrents? What architecture are you using? What version of ubuntu? What version of wxgtk do you have installed, which python version? When you run it from the command-line you get absolutely no output, it just instantly crashes and returns you to a new prompt? Bittornado crashed during the first startup. Bittornado was installed purely with aptitude. Additional ports were opened as suggested in: http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu_Edgy#How_to_install_P2P_BitTorrent_Client_.28Bittornado.29 Bittornado was launched from Applications - Internet - Bittornado Client start menu. There was no torrent file seleced initially for download. Then correct usage dialog box appeared and finally came a crash-notification. Hope this helps. Yes I also faced this problem. The Bittornado crashes on startup.
