I have the same problem and it still exists. It can be solved by purging the flashplugin-* directories and reinstalling flash by either using the additional packages available dialogue when opening reqonk, or using apt-get. Running updated Kubuntu 11.04_64 KDE 4.6.3. Would be nice to get this problem solved. Makes updating your system using KPackageKit for newbies VERY annoying. I can reproduce on Kubuntu amd64 11.04 the problem themroc has. I have flash installed using apt-get, but updating using KPackageKit just removes the plugin. Same Problem in Kubuntu amd64 11.04: KPackageKit could not update the flashplugin-installer: No error during update with KPackageKi, but the new flashplugin will not downloaded and installed. After the upgrade from Mav to 11.04, flash is broken. I removed it in muon, and tried re-installing in the cli: $ sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree Reading package lists... I'm afraid I can't recreate this issue. I think I managed to recreate this once, the flash tar wasn't downloaded and so didn't install. I see this as well. It appears that the tar.gz file gets downloaded, but the libflashplayer.so flie is never installed correctly. Same here. Flash doesn't work in Chrome and Firefox. Marc: I had this problem (as I stated previously), then I forced synaptic to install older package. After your answer I did update (so 10.2.152.27 were istalled again) and... everything works. Just removed flashplugin-nonfree, then did a sudo apt-get update, then did a sudo apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree. Restarted Chromium and flash is working again.
