[Bug 72623] Re: AC Adapter

2008-10-06 Thread Markus Korn
Unfortunately this bug report is being closed because we received no
response to the last inquiry for information. However, the Intrepid
Ibex 8.10 Beta release was most recently announced -
http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/intrepid/beta . If you are able to
confirm this is still an issue with this most recent release please feel
free to reopen this report. To reopen the bug report you can click on
the current status, under the Status column, and change the Status back
to "New".

Thanks,
Markus

[Bug 72623] Re: AC Adapter

2008-08-28 Thread Leann Ogasawara
The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

1) If you are comfortable installing packages on your own, the linux-
image-2.6.27-* package is currently available for you to install and
test.

--or--

2) The upcoming Alpha5 for Intrepid Ibex 8.10 will contain this newer
2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel. Alpha5 is set to be released Thursday Sept 4.
Please watch http://www.ubuntu.com/testing for Alpha5 to be announced.
You should then be able to test via a LiveCD.

Please let us know immediately if this newer 2.6.27 kernel resolves the
bug reported here or if the issue remains. More importantly, please
open a new bug report for each new bug/regression introduced by the
2.6.27 kernel and tag the bug report with 'linux-2.6.27'. Also, please
specifically note if the issue does or does not appear in the 2.6.26
kernel. Thanks again, we really appreicate your help and feedback.

Hardy Heron 8.04 was recently released. It would be helpful if you
could test the new release and verify if this is still an issue -

Hello Peter,

I have supplied all of the information that you requested, if for some
reason you did not receive it then I would be happy to send it again,
however I did indeed send it as I would like to get this issue resolved
as soon as possible. After I sent the info from the last e-mail I never
received any requests for new information. I am still very interested in
helping you by supplying all of the information you request, I am really
enjoying the use of Kubuntu however this AC adapter issue is starting to
get a little annoying, so I am more than happy to supply all of the
information you need.

Please understand that I did send in the last information request and my
e-mail provider confirmed it went through successfully.

Justin, to assist in pinning this down, can you please attach the output
of the following commands?

uname -a

sudo lspci -vv

sudo lspci -vvn

sudo dmidecode

Please be sure to attach, there will be too much output to include in-
line in the bug report. Also, please be sure to use sudo, lspci and
dmidecode need root privileges to obtain the information necessary to
further diagnosing this bug.

Thanks!

Hello Jonathan,

Yes I am still having this issue with Kubuntu. I am using 6.10 Edgy Eft
the latest version, I recently downloaded the Feisty Fawn herd 3 CD and
tried using it as a Live CD just to test and not to install, and I could
not boot the Live CD while plugged in.

I am using a Sony Vaio VGN-FS850P/W notebook w/ an Intel 915GM Chipset
and 1.5 GB RAM

Kubuntu has all of the updates.

Hello,

I am wondering if you are still having this problem w/ Kubuntu booting slowly
for you when connected to AC Power. I currently don't have this problem using
my Toshiba laptop running an up to date version of Edgy.
If you are still having this problem, what version of Kubuntu are you using?
Dapper or Edgy?? Can you make sure if you are still having this problem that
everything is up to date and current? Also any more information that you can
provide would greatly help out in triaging this bug.

Thanks,

Jonathan
