[Bug 810065] Re: "@#S*" Characters are overlap with each other in Tamil Terminal

2019-06-22 Thread Aananth C N
The bug is still present in gnome-terminal on Ubuntu 18.04. Instead of
printing like the one below

 ஜூன் 2019
ஞா தி செ பு வி வெ ச

the font printed on screen appear like the one shown in the attached
"gnome-terminal-tamil-print.png"

2011-07-18 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
This bug is an upstream one and it would be quite helpful if somebody
experiencing it could send the bug the to the people writing the
software. You can learn more about how to do this at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME . Thanks in advance!

Re: [Bug 810065] Re: @#S* Characters are overlap with each other in Tamil Terminal

2011-07-16 Thread Anbarasan
Hello Pedro,

Unfortunately I see the problem again 11.04.

So the problem exists in Ubuntu 11.04. I do not why I did not see the
problem yesterday.

Attached is the screen shot (Picture1_New)

lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 11.04
Release:11.04

I have attached some other details that may be relevant.

One more thing: The other bug: 810082. That problem is also seen. It is
related to asterisk character in Tamil GNOME terminal. So this bug is also
not resolved.

Kindly contact me if you need more details.

I like to take part in fixing this bug. I am a new person to bug reporting
and fixing. What are the things I should learn to contribute in fixing? Do
you have some webpage that explains to newbies? About me: I have some
programming experience in C, C++, PERL, TCL, Shell. Kindly advise.

Regards
Anbarasan

 Hi Pedro,

I tried Tamil GNOME Terminal and the problem I reported is not
reproducible. The special characters do not overlap each other in Ubuntu
11.04. You can close the bug. I have attached the screen shot (Picture1)
 confirming the same.

I reported another bug 810082. In that I mentioned about asterisk
character in GNOME Terminal. That problem does not appear in Ubuntu 11.04.
You can close that bug also.

The above two bugs are not seen with 'terminator'. See the attached
 picture (Picture2)

could you please try the same on natty? and also see if that's
reproducible with 'terminator' the terminal emulator? That might be a
vte issue, there's a new version of it on natty that's why i'm asking
you to test with that one, thanks in advance.
