[Bug 813895] Re: Unable to disable Run dialog on Alt-F2

2011-09-26 Thread Jussi Pakkanen
I can confirm that this happens with Oneiric daily ISO.

Steps: start dash, go to keyboard settings, select shortcuts, select
"move to workspace 2", map it to alt-f2. Pressing alt-f2 moves to
workspace 2 and also brings up the run dialod.

[Bug 813895] Re: Unable to disable Run dialog on Alt-F2

2011-10-14 Thread Bln
I used to use Alt-F2 to bring up a terminal on the screen. I've set
"Alt+F2" as the shortcut for "Launch Terminal" in [System settings >
Keyboard > Shortcuts > Launchers]
(/apps/metacity/global_keybindings/run_command_terminal in gconf), and
it works, but it spawns below the dash home...

Workaround : set the key
/apps/compizconfig-1/profiles/Default/plugins/unityshell/screen0/options/execute_command
to something else than "F2" ("F3" or anything).

[Bug 813895] Re: Unable to disable Run dialog on Alt-F2

2011-10-14 Thread Bln
Ah and log-out and in again to see the changes.

Notes :

  - It took me two tries to get this working (on the first try it reverted the
default key-binding (Alt+F2) in gconf), and so, has no effect that time. Maybe
that's a mistake I did, but in the case it happens to some other people, one
might consider to submit a bug.
  - On the second try it has worked well, excepted that right after the first
time (and ONLY on the first time) I have hit the new "dash-home" shortcut
(Alt-F3 in this case) which had bring the menu on the screen, at the exact
moment when I have pressed "Esc" to get rid of that said menu ; Unity seemed to
have segfaulted, in the way that the unity interface has suddenly disappeared
from the screen, and has been back fully functional after few seconds.

I hope that helps.
